BLAST Student-Led Murals

As part of the BLAST initiative—an arts-in-education programme in Ireland connecting professional artists with schools—I worked with primary and secondary students across Wexford and Wicklow to create a series of student-led school murals.

Each project began with a collaborative design workshop, where students developed a theme and contributed ideas. I then unified their sketches into a single, cohesive wall art design and guided students as they painted their mural.

My focus is on making mural painting inclusive and enjoyable, showing that art is for everyone and that the joy is in the process; the finished piece is just a bonus. These BLAST murals celebrate creativity, community, and the joy of school murals in Wexford and Wicklow.
