Sign Writing: Hand-Painted Lettering and a Love of Precision

I’ve loved sign writing since I worked on projects with my dad as a child, fascinated by the precision of every stroke—hello, perfectionist! That interest grew through calligraphy and hand lettering, which led me naturally to painted hand lettering. During Covid, I took an online course and have been training myself ever since.

Although my sign writing portfolio isn’t large yet, I’m looking forward to growing it. For me, the craft is about quality and care—well-painted signs are made to last, make an impact, and quietly become part of a space. I can’t help but stop and admire a sign done right.
